A few words

from our

founder

When I first started NUTRIBEINGS as a registered dietitian (RD) and as a public health nutritionist in London, I realised that effective nutrition coaching goes FAR BEYOND calories in vs calories out but the decision made by clients were very psychological. I felt like I was speaking French to English speaking clients.

When I understood the psychology of human behaviour and clients’ “why” and the “why behind their why”, I truly connected to the client and together, we made a lasting positive impact in all domains of their life. That’s when I knew that NUTRIBEINGS was not only helping people’s nutrition and lifestyle but we were creating lifelong changes in their lives.

When I started to receive feedback from clients all across the world who were thrilled by the benefits and impact they experienced since they began their journey with us, the focus was rarely physical transformation only but the pursuit of a feeling (e.g., feeling happier, feeling fulfilled). Clients reported changes in their mental health and wellbeing, work life, relationships, family and more, which implied that their nutritional journey was the trigger and channel to something deeper – a better life.

When should you see a nutritionist?

A registered London dietician or nutritionist offers personalised guidance to fuel your body and optimise your health. While weight loss is a common reason to seek help, these experts provide a more comprehensive range of support. Here are some instances where a nutritionist can be a valuable asset:

  • Optimising Overall Health for your needs: Even with a seemingly good diet, you might miss crucial nutrients. A nutritionist, with their individualised approach, can assess your needs and suggest adjustments for a well-rounded dietary plan. Whether you are a busy professional or wanting to transition to a vegan lifestyle, a nutritionist can improve your health with personalised nutrition.
  • Resetting Gut Health by improving microbiome:  A micro-nutritionist can also optimise your micronutrient status by targeting all nutrient deficiencies at a cellular level. This can resolve years of low energy levels and stress, improve pregnancy outcomes and mood swings. By resetting your gut health, you will feel like you have reached your fullest potential in your health and other areas of your life.
  • Addressing the root cause of Chronic Disease: A nutritionist can create a tailored diet to put certain conditions to remission such as PCOS, type 2 Diabetes or infertility.
  • Managing Medical Conditions: Certain conditions, such as type 1 diabetes, heart disease, or cancer, benefit from specific dietary strategies. A nutritionist can create a plan that complements your doctor’s recommendations.
  • Improving Athletic Performance: Nutrition plays a key role in athletic achievement. A nutritionist can design a plan that fuels your workouts and optimises recovery.
  • Addressing Food Sensitivities and symptoms: If you struggle with bloating, constipation, sleep issues, hair fall or eczema, a nutritionist can help identify food sensitivities and create an elimination diet to pinpoint triggers.
  • Developing Healthy Relationship with Food: If you are constantly thinking about food and want to gain food freedom, a nutritionist can help you develop sustainable, healthy eating habits that promote long-term well-being. You will no longer fear to eat certain food or try to use food as a coping strategy with the help of a dietitian.

Remember, you don’t need a specific health concern to benefit. Anyone, with any health concern or even without, can gain from a nutritionist’s versatile guidance on navigating a balanced and nourishing diet.

What is a nutritionist going to tell me?

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting food advice? A registered London nutritionist can be your decoder ring, translating complex nutrition science into practical strategies for your unique needs. Here’s what you can expect during your consultation:

  • Assessment First: They’ll examine your medical history, lifestyle, and current eating patterns to establish your unique profile. Be prepared to discuss your goals, such as weight management, improved energy, or managing a specific health condition.
  • Busting Myths: Forget fad diets and unrealistic expectations. A good nutritionist focuses on sustainable, balanced eating working to address any underlying roots of your health issues. They’ll help you identify areas for improvement and debunk any nutrition myths you might hold.
  • Building a Roadmap: Based on your assessment, they’ll create a bespoke personalised plan. This might include a period of elimination diet and reintroduction to reset your gut, portion control tips in different settings such as at work or on holidays, incorporating more whole nutritious foods, or decoding food labels and ingredient list. They’ll consider your preferences and budget, ensuring the plan is realistic and enjoyable.
  • Empowering You: The focus isn’t just on “what” to eat and “how” to make healthier choices. You’ll learn about essential nutrients, meal-planning strategies, and food-shopping hacks whilst building a healthy relationship with food and your body. They’ll equip you with the knowledge and skills to navigate the food world confidently.
  • Ongoing Support: Nutritionists are your partners, not dictators. They’ll monitor your progress, address challenges, and adjust your plan. They’ll also answer your questions and keep you motivated on your health journey.

They can guide you towards a healthier, happier you, one personalised bite at a time!

What is the difference between a nutritionist, dietician and nutritional therapist?

Nutritionist

Nutritionists play a valuable role in guiding people towards optimal health through personalised food choices. Their expertise lies in understanding how food impacts our bodies. However, in the UK, the title “nutritionist” isn’t regulated. This means anyone can use it.  To ensure you receive qualified advice, check your chosen nutritionist’s credentials. Look for relevant training and membership in a reputable professional organisation. This will give you peace of mind knowing you’re working with a qualified professional.

Nutritional Therapist

Just like nutritionists, the title “nutritional therapist” isn’t currently regulated in the UK.  For your safety, always verify if your chosen therapist is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). This government-backed organisation safeguards the public by ensuring high standards in the field. CNHC registration signifies completion of a rigorous three-year training program, guaranteeing your therapist possesses the necessary expertise.

Dietician

Dieticians are regulated healthcare professionals in the UK, primarily working within the National Health Service (NHS). They are also affiliated with the British Dietetic Association, their professional body.

At Nutribeings, our founder’s Sonam Hitendre’s qualifications include:

  • MSc Nutrition and Dietetics RD (registered dietitian)
  • MSc Public Health Nutrition MPH (public health nutritionist)
  • Certified Dietitian Nutrition Coach
  • Certified Fertility Dietitian

Can a nutritionist help me lose weight?

A qualified nutritionist can be a powerful ally in your weight loss journey. Here’s how:

  • Personalised Approach: Unlike fad diets, nutritionists tailor a plan to your needs and preferences. They consider your medical history, lifestyle, food allergies and preferences, and activity level. This personalised approach increases the likelihood of sticking to the plan and seeing results.
  • Calorie Control Made Easy: Nutritionists understand the calorie game. They’ll help you determine a safe and sustainable calorie deficit for weight loss, ensuring you feel satisfied while creating a calorie burn. In most cases, you will never have to actually count your calories and will learn to master intuitive eating.
  • Nutritional Knowledge: Confused about macros? Wondering if that new superfood lives up to the hype? Nutritionists are your dietary Encyclopedia. They’ll educate you on healthy food choices, portion control, and how to navigate food labels, empowering you to make informed decisions. They will go a step further by optimising your macros and your micronutrition profile.
  • Building Healthy Habits: Weight loss isn’t just about restriction; it’s about creating sustainable habits. A nutritionist can guide you in incorporating healthy swaps, planning meals, and developing healthy relationships with food, which will set you up for long-term success.
  • Support and Motivation: Losing weight can be a challenge. A nutritionist offers ongoing support, addresses setbacks, and celebrates your victories. This accountability and encouragement can make a world of difference.
  • Not a Magic Bullet: Remember, nutritionists aren’t magic wands. They partner with you, providing the tools and knowledge you need. Your commitment and effort are crucial for success.
  • Finding the Right Fit:  Not all nutritionists are equal. Look for someone with relevant qualifications and experience in weight management. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and ensure they align with your goals and preferences.

With a qualified London nutritionist, you can lose weight healthily and sustainably, achieving a healthier and happier you.
